Hello 2nd grade families!
I wanted to write to all of you to let you know of some upcoming activities we will have in 2nd grade within the next few weeks. We will have a lot going on and before we know it, December 15th will be here and we will be having our last day of fun before Christmas break.
I am including a few links in this email for upcoming parties and more volunteer opportunities. Every year I like to do a unit on the Polar Express with a culminating party (December 14th – Thursday) with all the fixings while watching the movie. Here is a link to sign up for items needed during the Polar Express party. I will allow children to wear pajamas or free dress (preferably something representing the Christmas season).
The next day, Friday December 15th, we will be having our annual ‘White Elephant Book Exchange’. I am asking that any child, that wants to participate, bring one new book, wrapped in Christmas wrap, without a card attached. We will be having a small Christmas party too. The children will be able to wear Christmas pajamas on this day, as well.
Throughout the last week of school, I will be having parent volunteers come in during the mornings and afternoons to do some ‘Christmas Around the World’ activities. I have included a link below to sign up for volunteering during those times. These times and activities are different from the ‘December Volunteer List’.
